Everest Re Seeks Production of Allocation Documents in Reinsurance Dispute with Lamorak

BOSTON — Everest Reinsurance Co. is urging a Massachusetts federal judge to compel Lamorak Insurance Co. to produce documents explaining its allocation of certain asbestos losses to its reinsurance contracts, arguing they will aid Everest in determining whether the allocation was reasonable and in good faith.

In a May 17 filing in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, Everest Re seeks production of unredacted documents relating to Lamorak’s reinsurance, arguing that Lamorak offered no good reason for the redactions.
