Everest Re Moves to Compel Lamorak to Produce Allocation-Related Documents in Reinsurance Case

BOSTON — Everest Reinsurance Co. has asked a Massachusetts federal judge to compel Lamorak Insurance Co. to produce documents in a reinsurance dispute relating to its allocation of underlying losses sustained by its insured, Aluminum Company of America (ALCOA).

In a March 24 motion, Everest Re told the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts that it needs the documents to assess the reasonableness of Lamorak’s allocation and that Lamorak has failed to produce complete policy files for the ALCOA policies.
