Ga. Federal Court Has Personal Jurisdiction over Individual Defendants, Canal Insurance Maintains

ATLANTA — Canal Insurance Co. is disputing two individual defendants’ assertion that a Georgia federal court lacks personal jurisdiction over them in a case involving allegedly fraudulent transfers made by Golden Isles Reinsurance Co., asserting that the allegations satisfy Georgia’s long-arm statute.

In an Oct. 4 opposition filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, Canal maintains that the defendants’ receipt of the cash transfers made by Golden Isles — a Georgia company — means that they committed tortious acts in Georgia.
