CHICAGO — The American Insurance Co. has asked an Illinois federal court to transfer its dispute with R&Q Reinsurance Co. over $1.5 million in proceeds to California, arguing that the action has a greater connection to that state.
In a June 6 motion filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, TAIC asserts that the underlying material events occurred in the Northern District of California and that the witnesses to TAIC’s alleged breach of the reinsurance contracts are located in that district.
