MADISON, Wis. — Continental Casualty Co. is urging a Wisconsin federal court to reject Employers Insurance of Wausau’s motion for judicial appointment of an umpire to oversee a reinsurance arbitration, arguing that CNA has named unbiased candidates in accordance with the contracts’ umpire appointment procedure.
In its June 3 cross-petition, CNA asks the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin to enforce the contractual umpire selection procedure, arguing that Wausau has failed to show that CNA’s candidates are not unbiased.
