Wis. Federal Judge Says He Will Appoint Umpire if CNA Does Not Respond to Petition

MADISON, Wis. — A Wisconsin federal judge has advised Continental Casualty Co. that he will grant Employers Insurance of Wausau’s petition to appoint an umpire to oversee an ongoing reinsurance arbitration if CNA does not file an answer and response by June 6.
In an April 20 text order, Judge William M. Conley of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin added that if CNA files a response, Wausau will have 14 days to reply.
