MADISON, Wis. — Employers Insurance of Wausau has asked a Wisconsin federal judge to appoint an umpire to oversee an ongoing reinsurance arbitration with Continental Casualty Co. (CNA), explaining that the parties have reached an impasse in the appointment procedure.
In an April 1 petition filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin, Wausau maintains that CNA has waived its right to name alternate candidates because it has continually refused to name neutral umpire candidates.
