Pa. Federal Judge Stays $4.4 Million Reinsurance Action Pending Resolution of Motion to Transfer Venue

PHILADELPHIA — A Pennsylvania federal judge has stayed a $4.4 million reinsurance action filed by St. Paul Fire & Marine Insurance Co. against R&Q Reinsurance Co. pending an Illinois federal court’s resolution of St. Paul’s motion to transfer a related case to the Pennsylvania court.

In a March 3 order, Judge Joel H. Slomsky of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania ordered the court clerk to place the action in suspense.
