Judge Refuses to Reconsider Refusal to Alter Protective Order Shielding Arbitration Documents

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A District of Columbia judge has refused to alter factual findings in a ruling in which he refused to modify a protective order that shields documents produced by the U.S. Navy in a reinsurance arbitration.

In a Feb. 1 order, Judge U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, Judge James E. Boasberg of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia explained that in issuing the ruling, he relied upon factual findings in a related ruling issued by another court. These findings cannot be second-guessed, the judge held.
