Umpire Resigns in Arrowood Reinsurance Arbitration; Parties Attempting to Resolve Dispute, Counsel Says

NEW YORK — Counsel for the defendant reinsurers in an arbitration initiated by Arrowood Indemnity Co. have informed a New York federal judge that the umpire overseeing the proceeding has resigned and that the parties are attempting to seek resolution of the dispute in its entirety.
In a Nov. 19 letter filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, counsel for Employers Insurance Company of Wausau, Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. and National Casualty Co. asked Judge Louis L. Stanton to leave the file open for future action as needed.
