TAMPA, Fla. — A Florida federal judge has denied First American Title Insurance Co.’s motion for leave to amend its counterclaims against Stewart Title Guaranty Co. in a title reinsurance dispute, ruling that First American is merely seeking to repackage previously dismissed allegations.
Judge James S. Moody of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida held that First American cannot rely on the allegations as a basis to support its claim for breach of the utmost duty of good faith.
