PHILADELPHIA — A Pennsylvania federal judge has dismissed an action seeking vacatur of an arbitration award for lack of jurisdiction, ruling that it does not present a substantial federal question and, as such, does not arise under federal law.

On May 19, Judge Anita B. Brody of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania explained that although the underlying dispute implicated Financial Industry Regulatory Authority rules, the movants failed to prove that their right to relief depends on resolution of a substantial question of federal law.
