Excalibur Opposes Motion to Dismiss Pa. Reinsurance Action, Says Case Has No Link to Connecticut

PHILADELPHIA — Excalibur Reinsurance Corp. has opposed Travelers Indemnity Co.’s motion to dismiss or transfer a reinsurance action filed in Pennsylvania federal court, arguing that a Connecticut action involving the same parties, contract and dispute, should be dismissed instead.

In its June 11 opposition filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, Excalibur asserts that this litigation has a logical factual and legal connection to the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and has absolutely no connection to Connecticut.

Excalibur was one of several reinsurers who entered into an “Errors and Omissions Liability Cessions Treaty” reinsurance agreement with Travelers …
