CHICAGO — An Illinois appeals court has refused to hear an insurer’s appeal of the dismissal of claims against two of its former employees in an action involving an alleged reinsurance scheme, ruling that the orders are not immediately appealable under state law.

On May 5, the Illinois 1st District Court of Appeals, explained that the Illinois statute allowing appeals of certain, enumerated judgments does not list the types of orders at issue and, as such, the rule does not apply.
