N.Y. Federal Judge Allows Starr Indemnity to Amend Complaint Against Third-Party Claims Manager

NEW YORK — A New York federal judge has allowed Starr Indemnity & Liability Co. to amend its complaint accusing a claims manager and its affiliates of charging unreasonable fees to add claims of conversion and breach of fiduciary duty against the defendants.
In an April 20 order, Judge Denise Cote of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York found Starr has shown diligence in support of a finding of good cause to permit amendment of the complaint after the deadline for amended pleadings has passed.
