Reinsurance Intermediary Moves to Dismiss Claims in Dispute Over $9 Million in Premium

NEWARK, N.J. — Reinsurance intermediary Catalyst Re Consulting LLC has moved to dismiss claims asserted by National Indemnity Co. in a dispute over $9 million in premiums earned in connection with a 2008 retrocessional agreement.
In an April 15 motion filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, Catalyst Re asserts that it played no part in a settlement that was allegedly designed to deprive NICO of premium that it had earned for assuming up to $189.7 million in losses under the agreement.
