N.Y. Federal Judge Extends Discovery Deadline in Reinsurance Dispute

ALBANY, N.Y. — A New York federal magistrate judge has extended the deadline for filing discovery motions to April 21 in a dispute between Utica Mutual Insurance Co. and Clearwater Insurance Co. over reinsurance coverage for a settlement of asbestos claims.
On April 7, Magistrate Judge Therese W. Dancks of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York granted the letter request, filed by counsel for both parties. Counsel assured the judge that the extension will not affect the April 20 due date for summary judgment motions.
