Mich. Federal Judge Grants National Union’s Motion to Confirm Reinsurance Arbitration Awards

DETROIT — A Michigan federal judge has confirmed two reinsurance arbitration awards issued in National Union’s favor, rejecting the cedents’ assertion that the reinsurer’s party arbitrator had improper ex parte communications with counsel and that the cedents’ party arbitrator was left out of crucial panel decisions.

Judge Victoria A. Roberts confirmed the awards in a March 31 sealed order.
