Judge Takes Summary Judgment Motion Under Advisement in $2.74 Million Reinsurance Commission Dispute

HARTFORD, Conn. — A Connecticut federal judge has taken under advisement Odyssey Reinsurance Co.’s motion for summary judgment in a dispute over whether Cal-Regent Insurance Services Corp. owes $2.74 million in adjusted reinsurance commissions.
According to an April 2 filing, Judge Victor A Bolden of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut will consider Odyssey Re’s assertion that there is no genuine issue of material fact that Cal-Regent is obligated to reimburse it for adjustments made to commissions for four underwriting years.
