Celanese Asks Texas Federal Judge to Remand Lawsuit Against OneBeacon, Resolute to State Court

DALLAS — Celanese Corp. has moved a Texas federal court to remand its lawsuit accusing Resolute Management Inc. of delaying payment under policies issued by OneBeacon America Insurance Co. in order to relieve Resolute’s parent, National Indemnity Co., of having to pay reinsurance proceeds to OneBeacon.
In a Dec. 1 motion for remand filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Celanese asserts that it has met the standard for asserting a viable cause of action under which it may recover directly and separately from Resolute Management.
