Reinsurer Seeks Production of Documents, Interrogatories in Dispute over Coverage for Asbestos Settlement

ALBANY, N.Y. — In a dispute over reinsurance coverage for Utica Mutual Insurance Co.’s settlement of asbestos bodily injury claims asserted against its insured, Goulds Pumps Inc., Clearwater Insurance Co. has asked a New York federal court to compel production of documents relating to aggregate limits in Utica policies not at issue in this case.

Clearwater also seeks production of documents relating to a a 2012 loss portfolio transfer (LPT) agreement between Utica and National Indemnity Co.
