CHICAGO — An Illinois federal judge has denied Guarantee Trust Life Insurance Co.’s motion to compel American Medical and Life Insurance Co. to post a $1 million bond in a reinsurance case, explaining that he is not authorized to grant such relief.
On May 5, Judge George M. Marovich of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois also denied GTL’s motion to file a second amended complaint in order to add a prayer for specific performance, ruling that it is too late in the case for such a motion.
