Eaglestone Says it Should Not Be Forced to Arbitrate Reinsurance Claims with Transatlantic, Fair American

NEW YORK — Eaglestone Reinsurance Co. has asked a New York state court to enjoin Transatlantic Reinsurance Co. and Fair American Insurance and Reinsurance Co. from forcing it to proceed with the arbitration of reinsurance claims arising from two sets of reinsurance contracts.

In a March 13 complaint filed in the New York County Supreme Court, Eaglestone asserts it was never a party to the reinsurance contracts, nor has it assumed the obligations of the parties to those contracts.
