National Indemnity Seeks to Bar Transatlantic from Forcing it to Participate in Reinsurance Arbitration

OMAHA, Neb. — National Indemnity Co. has asked a Nebraska federal court to enjoin Transatlantic Reinsurance Co. from forcing NICO to participate in an ongoing reinsurance arbitration between TRC and Continental Insurance Co.
In a March 4 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska, NICO asserts that it is neither a party nor a signatory to the reinsurance agreement at issue in that arbitration, nor is it a party to any arbitration agreement with TRC.
