BOSTON — A Massachusetts federal judge has stayed a case in which Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. seeks arbitration of a reinsurance dispute concerning an access-to-records clause pending a state court’s resolution of a parallel case.
In a one-page order issued Feb. 21, Chief Judge Patti B. Saris of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts granted Liberty Mutual Insurance Co.’s request to stay pending the state court’s resolution of its motion to enforce an arbitration award that concerns the same access-to-records clause that is at issue in this dispute.
