NEW YORK — A New York federal judge has denied Battenkill Insurance Co.’s motion to seal portions of a reinsurance contract proffered as an exhibit in a dispute over funds from a residential mortgage-backed securitization trust, finding that Battenkill has not overcome the presumption of access.

On Jan. 27, Judge Paul G. Gardephe of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York held that the requested redactions would eliminate key and relevant terms that “directly pertain to Battenkill's interest in the trust proceeds that are the subject of this action.”
