NEW YORK — Two retrocessionaires are opposing Odyssey Reinsurance Co.’s petition to a New York federal court seeking appointment of an umpire to oversee a reinsurance arbitration between the parties, asserting the parties have not reached an impasse in the umpire selection process.
In their Jan. 13 opposition, ReliStar Reinsurance Group and Lloyd’s of London Syndicate 53 contend the petition is moot because each side has nominated a full slate of three umpire candidates that are prepared to serve.
