Everest Asks N.Y. Federal Court to Confirm Reinsurance Arbitration Award

NEW YORK — Everest Reinsurance Co. has asked a New York federal judge to confirm a reinsurance arbitration award dismissing National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh’s claims, noting that National Union has withdrawn its claims and has not challenged the final award.

In a Jan. 8 petition filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Everest asserts the court has no reason to disturb the arbitration panel’s findings, which include an award of $450,000 in fees and costs to Everest.
