N.Y. Federal Judge Orders Arrowood to Proceed with Umpire Selection

NEW YORK — A New York federal judge has ordered Arrowood Indemnity Co. to proceed with the umpire selection process set forth in its reinsurance treaties written by three reinsurers.
Judge Louis L. Stanton of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York ordered the parties to report to the court the name of the individual selected to serve as umpire. Absent any objection sustained by the court, that individual will preside over an arbitration between Arrowood and its reinsurers, Employers Insurance Company of Wausau, Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. and National Casualty Co.
