Employers, OneBeacon Ordered to Submit Settlement Letters in Reinsurance Dispute

MADISON, Wis. — In a preliminary pretrial conference order, a Wisconsin federal magistrate judge has ordered Employers Insurance Company of Wausau and R&Q Reinsurance Co. to each submit a settlement letter in a dispute over reinsurance for underlying asbestos claims.

In the Dec. 18 order, Magistrate Judge Steven L. Crocker of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin said the letters “should contain the terms and conditions upon which the parties would settle this case.” The judge also scheduled a bench trial for Jan. 5, 2015.
