Travelers Drops Claim Against Century in E.I. DuPont Reinsurance Case

HARTFORD, Conn. – Travelers Casualty and Surety Co. (NYSE: TRV) has agreed to drop its claims against Century Indemnity Co. in its action seeking reinsurance coverage for its settlement of asbestos claims asserted against E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Co.

According to a filing in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, Travelers and Century stipulated to dismissal with prejudice of Travelers’ breach of contract claim against Century. The action remains pending against Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co., however.
