NEW YORK — A federal judge has transferred to the Northern District of New York a case in which Munich Reinsurance America Inc. seeks recovery of $800,000 in alleged reinsurance overpayments made to Utica Mutual Insurance Co.
In a June 18 order, Judge Katherine B. Forrest of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York agreed with Utica that transfer is appropriate because the reinsurance billings took place in the Northern District and there is an allegedly related case proceeding in that district.
