Travelers Seeks to Add $175,408 Claim in Retrocessional Suit Against Excalibur

HARTFORD, Conn. — The Travelers Indemnity Co. (NYSE: TRV) has moved for leave to add a claim for $175,408.21 in its suit against Excalibur Reinsurance Corp. in which it is seeking payment under a retrocessional treaty covering claims brought against Ernst & Young.
In its June 19 motion, Travelers explains that it was unable to include allegations regarding this March 13 billing in its original Dec. 21 complaint because that complaint was filed three months before Travelers issued the billing.
In the original complaint, Travelers demanded from Excalibur $824,592, plus interest, pursuant to a retrocessional treaty that covered a reinsurance …
