N.J. Judge Sends $2.1 Million Offset Dispute to Arbitration

TRENTON, N.J. — A New Jersey federal judge has sent to arbitration a $2.1 million offset dispute between New Jersey Physicians United Reciprocal Exchange and its reinsurers, finding the claims fall squarely within the arbitration clause in the reinsurance contract at issue.

In an April 11 order, Judge Freda L. Wolfson of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey further ruled that the broadly-worded arbitration clause is not negated by the contract’s service of suit clause.
