Travelers May Amend Complaint Against Excalibur in $1.6 Million Case

HARTFORD, Conn. - A Connecticut federal judge has allowed Travelers Insurance Co. (NYSE:TRV) to assert claims of account stated and violation of the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act against Excalibur Reinsurance Corp. in a $1.6 million reinsurance action.

On Feb. 1, Senior Judge Charles S. Haight Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut ruled that allowing Travelers to file an amended complaint at this stage in the case will not prejudice Excalibur. The judge further found the new claims are viable.
