Repwest Agrees to Aon’s Proposed Stay Pending Repwest/Praetorian Arbitration

PHOENIX — Repwest Insurance Co. has agreed to a proposed stay of its claims against reinsurance broker Aon Benfield Inc. (NYSE:AON) pending the outcome of a related arbitration between Repwest and Praetorian Insurance Co.

In a Dec. 14 brief filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, Repwest agreed with Aon that it has no way of knowing whether it has been damaged by Aon’s alleged breach of the parties’ broker contract until the arbitration is resolved.
