PHOENIX — Reinsurance broker Aon Benfield Inc. (NYSE:AON) has asked an Arizona federal judge to stay Repwest Insurance Co.’s claims against it pending the outcome of a related arbitration between Repwest and Praetorian Insurance Co.
In a motion filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, Aon asserts that a stay would advance the federal policy in favor of arbitration and promote judicial economy by allowing the arbitrators to resolve in the first instance issues common to the arbitration and litigation.
