NEW YORK – Insco Ltd.’s appeal of a federal judge’s order banning its counsel from representing it in a reinsurance arbitration with Northwestern National Insurance Co. has been mooted due to settlement of the underlying dispute.
In its appeal to the 2nd Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, Insco asserted that the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York lacked jurisdiction over NNIC’s request to disqualify Insco's counsel and erred in sanctioning the firm for its “good faith efforts to protect its client’s interests.”
