Federal Judge Confirms Final Award in Reinsurance Dispute, Refuses to Seal Record

NEW YORK — A New York federal judge has granted Aioi Nissay Dowa’s unopposed motion to confirm a final arbitration award issued in a reinsurance dispute involving Sept. 11 aviation losses.

In the Aug. 21 order, Judge J. Paul Oetken also denied ProSight Specialty Management Company’s Inc. to seal the petition to confirm and the award itself, ruling that a “presumption of access” is attached to the documents and the information contained therein would not harm the parties’ business.
