DENVER — A federal magistrate judge has denied two discovery requests seeking reinsurance information from an insurer in a property damage coverage case, ruling that the information sought is relevant but the documents submitted to the court for in camera review were not responsive to the requests. Continental Materials Corp. v. Affiliated FM Insurance Co., No. 10-2900 (D. Colo.).
On July 30, Magistrate Judge Kristen L. Mix of the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado explained that the documents withheld from production were “internal documents” between the insurer and its underwriter, not materials “exchanged” with a reinsurer.
