HARTFORD, Conn. - Excalibur Reinsurance Corp. has asked a federal judge to compel Travelers Indemnity Co. to respond to discovery requests in a dispute over reinsurance coverage for the settlement of claims brought against a broker in the wake of the Personal Accident London Market Excess Spiral. The Travelers Indemnity Co. v. Excalibur Reinsurance Corp., No. 3:11-1209 (D. Conn.).
In its May 8 motion filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, Excalibur asserts that the information and documents being withheld by Travelers are vital to determining whether the reinsurance treaties cover the losses.
