AON Seeks Dismissal of Repwest's Breach of Contract, Declaratory Judgment Claims

PHOENIX - AON Benfield Inc. has asked an Arizona federal judge to dismiss breach of contract and declaratory judgment claims asserted against it by Repwest Insurance Co., arguing that Repwest failed to set forth exactly what contract the intermediary allegedly breached. Repwest Insurance Co. v. Praetorian Insurance Co., et al., No. 2:12-369 (D. Ariz.).

In its first amended complaint, Repwest asserts that Praetorian breached the reinsurance contracts by entering into a 1999 commutation with Conestoga Insurance Co. without Repwest's consent. Repwest also accuses AON of brokering the alleged commutation without Repwest's permission.
