Praetorian Moves to Compel Arbitration of Repwest's Breach of Contract Action

PHOENIX - Praetorian Insurance Co. has moved an Arizona federal judge to compel arbitration of an action filed by Repwest Insurance Co., asserting that the two 1999 reinsurance agreements at issue contain valid and enforceable arbitration clauses. Repwest Insurance Co. v. Praetorian Insurance Co., et al., No. 2:12-369 (D. Ariz.).

In its Feb. 24 opposition filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, Praetorian asserts that Repwest's claims are subject to mandatory arbitration pursuant to the parties' excess workers' compensation quota share reinsurance contract and aggregate excess of loss reinsurance contract.
