Calif. Court Upholds Verdict for Reinsurers in Aerojet Settlement Case

SAN FRANCISCO - A California appellate court has upheld a jury verdict in favor of reinsurers in a dispute over reinsurance coverage for Transport Insurance Co.'s settlement of underlying pollution claims, ruling that the court did not err in instructing the jury on the statute of limitations issue. Transport Insurance Co. v TIG Insurance Co., et al., No. A122573 (Calif. App. Ct., 1st Dist.).
On Jan. 13, the California Court of Appeal, 1st District, ruled that Transport's argument is barred by the doctrine of invited error because it agreed to the jury instruction.
