NEW YORK - Pacific Employers Insurance Co. has asked a New York federal judge to confirm a reinsurance arbitration award, noting that the opposing party, Global Reinsurance Corporation of America, has not moved to vacate, modify or correct the March award. Pacific Employers Insurance Co. v. Global Reinsurance Corporation of America, U.S. Branch, No. 11-6301 (S.D. N.Y.).
In a Sept. 9 petition filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, PEIC asserts that Section 9 of the Federal Arbitration Act requires confirmation of the final award.
