Century Seeks to Strike 'Confidential Facts' from Cross-Petition to Confirm

NEW YORK - Century Indemnity Co. has asked a federal judge to strike portions of a London reinsurer's cross-petition to confirm a series of arbitration awards, arguing that it was filed "in an effort to obtain improper advantage by inaccurately characterizing in the public record what were agreed to be confidential arbitration-related facts." Century Indemnity Co. v. Equitas Insurance Ltd., No. 11-1040 (S.D. N.Y.).

The motion to strike, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, also says certain allegations and quotations in Harper Insurance Ltd.'s petition are prejudicial and immaterial.
