Travelers Settles $5.1 Million Dispute Over Armstrong Asbestos Claims

CINCINNATI - Travelers Casualty and Surety Co. has settled a $5.1 million suit against three reinsurers in which it sought indemnity for a 2007 settlement of asbestos claims brought against Armstrong Contracting and Supply Co. Travelers Casualty and Surety Co. v. Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co., et al., No. 3:11-107 (D. Conn.).
According to a June 25 order issued by Magistrate Judge Norah M. King of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, the parties have reached a settlement. The magistrate scheduled a status conference for July 13 unless a dismissal entry is received prior to that date.
