NEW YORK - A New York federal judge has refused to disqualify the law firm of Rubin Fiorella & Friedman from representing Munich Reinsurance America Inc. in a reinsurance arbitration with Employers Insurance Company of Wausau. Employers Insurance Company of Wausau v. Munich Reinsurance America Inc., No. 10-3558 (S.D. N.Y.).
On May 16, Judge P. Kevin Castel of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York ruled that although the firm represented Employers Insurance Company of Wausau in a previous arbitration, the two matters are "neither the same nor substantially similar."
