Folksamerica Agrees to Dismiss Claims Against Ecuadorian Construction Company

MIAMI - Folksamerica Reinsurance Co. has agreed to dismiss with prejudice its suit against an Ecuadorian construction company in which it sought sums allegedly due under a bond reinsurance contract. Folksamerica Reinsurance Co. v. Constructora Del Litoral S.A., et al., No. 10-20560 (S.D. Fla.).

Senior Judge William M. Hoeveler of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida dismissed the action on Feb. 25 after the parties filed a stipulation of dismissal. The stipulation provides, however, that Folksamerica is not barred from pursuing the claims in Ecuador.
