Alliant Denied Summary Judgment in MGA Dispute

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - A federal judge has denied Alliant Insurance Services Inc.'s motion for summary judgment in a suit accusing it of failing to properly transmit $1.88 million in reinsurance losses, finding issues of fact as to whether Alliant acted as a managing general agent. Alabama Municipal Insurance Corp. v. Alliant Insurance Services Inc., No. 2:09-928 (M.D. Ala.).

On Feb. 25, Judge W. Keith Watkins of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama ruled that the case should proceed to a full trial.
